Before My Name Changed to Mom
I remember looking in the mirror when I was little, pretending to hold my baby, hushing it to sleep and singing "mommy loves baby, mommy loves baby, and Jesus loves you too"—just like my grandma used to sing to me. So naturally, as I got older, I always wanted to be around kids. I'd even pinch their little toes just to make them cry so I could swoop in, console them, and feel like a real mom. I don't know why I thought that was a good strategy, but I was young, so you can't get too mad at me. (Don't worry—I don't do that anymore.)
That love of motherhood has always been rooted so deeply in my soul, but it wasn't awakened until I took that first pregnancy test as a "practice test" just to try it out—and was SHOCKED when it was positive.
When I was pregnant with my first, I kept having these dreams that I'd left him somewhere—at the grocery store, in the car, just completely forgotten about him. I'd wake up in a total panic, heart racing, only to realize I was still pregnant and he was right there with me. I'd drift back to sleep holding my stomach, wishing he was already in my arms.
And then he arrived, and holy cow, those dreams became very real, very fast. Tiny fingers, little squeals, the whole deal. Before I knew it, one became two, then three, then four. And every single day, I'm reminded just how fast it's all going.
Wife. Mama. Storyteller with a Camera.
My sweet Juniper will tell you she lives in a 'boys' world,' and honestly, she's not wrong. Bowie, Juniper, Rusty, and Winston have turned my life into something I never quite imagined—but wouldn't change for anything. And they wouldn't be here without my husband Aaron, who swears I completely ignored him in high school (but let's be honest... that doesn't sound like me).
My faith in Jesus is at the heart of everything I do—it reminds me to slow down, find beauty in the chaos, and cherish these simple moments.
Being their mom has taught me just how fast it all goes. The sleepless nights, the first steps, the way they say your name—it's all over in a blink.
That's why I'm here. As a motherhood and maternity photographer in Westminster, CO, I get to help families like yours hold onto the real stuff. Your toddler won't sit still? That's okay! Your kids are climbing trees? Even better. Those are the moments that tell your story.
Let's connect over coffee or FaceTime. I'd love to hear about your family and help you capture this season before it's gone.
Can't wait to hear from you,
Rachel
What You Can Expect From Me
Motherhood is messy, real, and raw — and that's exactly how I'll photograph it. I'm not here to pose you into something that doesn't feel like you. I'm here to document your story just as it is, with all the honest, imperfect moments that make it yours.
I believe you deserve to know exactly what you're getting when you book with me. That means I'll always be upfront about my process, my editing style, and what your gallery will look like before we ever shoot together. No surprises, no overpromising — just an honest conversation about how I can best serve you and your family.
Most importantly, I want every mama who steps in front of my camera to feel safe, seen, and celebrated. I'll treat you and your little ones with kindness and care every step of the way — from your first inquiry to the moment your images are delivered.
This is your story. I'm just honored to tell it.
