The Fruit Loop Solution!

As a Westminster family photographer, I've learned that sometimes the secret to great photos is... Fruit Loops.

Okay, so let me paint you a picture. We're out there trying to get this adorable toddler to walk toward the camera, and Hotch is having NONE of it. He's got places to be, rocks to inspect, and probably a very important toddler meeting to attend.

Enter: the Fruit Loops.

I'm telling you, those little colorful circles became our secret weapon. One Fruit Loop held up in the air? Suddenly, Hotch is all smiles and cooperation. Another Fruit Loop? He's practically running toward us like we're handing out golden tickets. It was honestly hilarious and adorable and exactly what we needed.

Why Bribes Are Totally Fine (I Said What I Said)

Look, I'm not going to pretend that toddlers are easy to photograph. They're not. They have their own ideas about what's happening, and "stand here and smile" is usually not on their agenda. And you know what? That's totally okay!

As a Westminster family photographer, I'd rather have a happy kid and real smiles than a perfectly posed shot with tears behind it."

The Fruit Loop method gave us giggles, actual JOY, and parents who weren't stressed out. Win, win, win.

A Westminster family photographer's honest confession — sometimes the secret to great photos is a handful of cereal and zero shame.

Look, here's the thing. As a Westminster family photographer, I know that the best sessions aren't about perfect poses or getting kids to stand still. They're about capturing the real stuff – the giggles, the chaos, the personalities that make your family YOUR family. So if you're wondering what to bring to your family session, here's my honest advice:

Snacks your kid actually likes – Fruit Loops, crackers, whatever works. I'm not judging. I'm here for it.

Something familiar – A favorite toy or blanket can help them feel comfortable, especially if they're shy around new people (hi, that's me with a camera).

Low expectations and high patience – Kids are gonna be kids. The best photos happen when we just let them be themselves and roll with it.

Trust me – I promise I've seen it all. Meltdowns, runny noses, kids who refuse to look at the camera. We'll figure it out together, and it'll be great.

Hotch, You Little Legend

By the end of our session, Hotch had basically become a professional model (fueled entirely by Fruit Loops), and we got SO many amazing shots. His little personality was shining through, and that's exactly what family photos should be – real moments, real smiles, real life.

So yeah, I'll totally bribe your kid with candy if that's what it takes to capture the good stuff. Because that's what this is all about – the messy, sweet, hilarious reality of family.

This is exactly why I love what I do as a Westminster family photographer — the messy, sweet, hilarious reality of family is always worth capturing.

Fruit Loops for the win!!
